Maria Eufrosyne loves her porcelain. Like when she was a child, she sometimes takes it out and just places it on a table. Move it around, feel the lightness and admire the beautiful hand-painted patterns on it. Her porcelain makes her dream away. Beyond the seas. She knows that it is so incredibly different beyond the seas but she cannot for the life of her understand how. How are the women over there? What do they wear and what are their dreams. She wishes she could see other worlds. 

But the castle is her only world. She knows that it is absurd given its size but quite often she thinks it is far too small. 

In the 17th century, porcelain became immensely popular in Europe and a highly coveted commodity among the princely families. Trade with China and Japan was among the most profitable things a European businessman could do because you had to pay a lot of money for a beautiful tableware, especially if it was painted by a master. Of course, it also created lots of dreams about a mysterious and exotic world beyond the seas.
